The Lakewood Early Childhood PTA (LECPTA) is a community of Lakewood families with children from birth through elementary school. We help parents build lasting friendships while supporting our neighborhood schools through volunteerism, events, and fundraising.
Membership is open to families with children from birth through elementary school who live in or are connected to the Lakewood community.
Whether you're expecting your first child, new to the neighborhood, or have elementary-aged children, there's a place for you here.

New members join throughout the year, although many families join before the school year begins so they can participate in fall activities and playgroups.
LECPTA is a women's membership organization for mothers and female caregivers of children from birth through elementary school in the Lakewood community.
While membership is reserved for women, we warmly welcome the involvement of the entire family. Many of our children's events, community activities, and fundraising initiatives include spouses, partners, and children, and we continue to create opportunities that bring Lakewood families together.

Playgroups connect families with children of similar ages through regularly scheduled playdates, outings, and gatherings.
Many of our members say their playgroup became their closest circle of friends.
Families are placed into GroupMe chats based primarily on their children's ages.
This allows children to grow up together while parents build friendships with families in similar stages of life.
Each playgroup organizes its own schedule.
Many groups meet weekly or monthly depending on members' availability and interests. Don't be shy: volunteer to host a playgroup at your home!
Throughout the year we host a variety of family-friendly activities, including:

Founders Day Brunch celebrates the volunteers and leaders who make LECPTA possible.
Members gather to recognize accomplishments from the past year, celebrate our history, and see the impact of the funds raised throughout the year.
Fundraising through events like the Auction Party and Home Tour helps provide meaningful financial support to neighborhood schools and educational programs throughout the Lakewood community.
Every membership and every event contributes to that impact.
Volunteer opportunities are available but flexible.
Whether you want to chair an event, serve on a committee, help for an hour, or simply attend activities, there are opportunities for every schedule and level of involvement.
The Sunshine Committee supports members during life's important moments.
Whether celebrating a new baby, welcoming a family, recovering from illness, or offering encouragement during difficult times, the committee helps members feel cared for and connected.
Absolutely.
Many members join because they're new to the neighborhood. Between playgroups, children's activities, adults-only events, and volunteer opportunities, LECPTA is one of the easiest ways to build lasting friendships in Lakewood.
As much or as little as you'd like.
